Get to know CPHS head football coach, Richard Carson

The College Park Cavaliers play the Oak Ridge War Eagles this Friday, October 17. We had a chance to sit down with Coach Carson and ask him some questions to get an inside look on the Cavalier Football coach. Stay tuned to see how Coach Rush from Oak Ridge answered later on this month!

Favorite food?

--Fried chicken

Favorite sports team?

--The Houston Texans and The Houston Rockets

Family?

--I have a wife named Karen, and have two sons, J.R. (25) and Reid (23).

What position did you play in high school?

--I was an offensive lineman and defensive lineman.

Do you have hobbies outside of football?

--I like to play golf and water ski. I am also very involved with the Spring Baptist Church.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

--Gulf Shores, Alabama

Do you have a favorite quote?

--“The tradition of Aldine Football will not be left to the weak, the timid or the indifferent.”

If you had to describe your team in one word, what would it be?

--“Tough”

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

--Blue Bell Magic Cookie Bar

Do you have any pets? How many? What are their names?

--The dog moved out with my son.

If you weren’t coaching, what other career would you be doing?

--I would be a fire fighter.

Role model(s) that inspired you to become a coach?

--My high school coach, Leonard George, Tom Landry, and Bum Phillips.
