The College Park Cavaliers Football Team

The College Park High School Cavalier Varsity Football Team is led by 1st-year Head Coach Kyle Coats

Coats takes over as the program's third head coach after the departure of long-time Cavalier coach Lonnie Madison. Madison took the helm in 2017 leading the team to a district title in 2020 and the program's first playoff win in 2021. Coats joins the team having previously been the co-defensive coordinator at DeSoto.

The team competes in District 13-6A. The CPHS Cavaliers have been playing varsity football since the team's inception in 2006. College Park made their first playoff appearance in 2008, which also marked the team's first district championship.

The Cavaliers ended the 2022-2023 campaign with a 3-7 overall record with all the team's wins coming from district play. After dropping both out-of-district games, district play started with a three-game winning streak before dropping their next five. The team ended the season in 6th place, a four-spot drop from the previous season.

CPHS will open its season with a road trip to Cinco Ranch High School on Friday, August 25th. Last year's game saw the Cougars take the win 41-13.

The Cavaliers will begin district play on Saturday, September 9th against Grand Oaks High School.
