Lady Cavs fall short in OT
THE WOODLANDS, Texas - College Park Lady Cavs basketball team rallied from a 10-point deficit in the third quarter, however couldn’t complete the comeback and fell 41-37 in overtime to Cy-Creek in a non-district game at home Tuesday night.
College Park (1-6) had some shooting woes in the first half as the Lady Cavs trailed 25-15, however opened the third quarter with a 12-0 run as Haley Fitzpatrick hit a corner 3-pointer to give College Park a 27-25 lead at the end of the third quarter.
The Lady Cavs had a couple of chances at the end of regulation to get the go-ahead basket with 40 seconds remaining in the game, however both teams combined for four turnovers as the game went to overtime, tied 35-35. College Park couldn’t get a shot to fall in the extra period as Cy-Creek (2-7) sank two free throws late to seal the 41-37 victory.
Fitzpatrick led the Lady Cavs with a team-high 11 points.
College Park will now travel to Georgetown to compete in the Jack Frost Tournament this weekend.
