Community invited to celebratory event for TWHS Volleyball State Championship team

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - In recognition of The Woodlands High School’s (TWHS) Lady Highlanders’ second straight State Championship title, media personnel and community members are invited to attend a celebratory rally on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 5 - 6 pm at Market Street’s Central Park, 9595 Six Pines Drive.

WHO:

TWHS’s Lady Highlanders recently won its second consecutive state championship with a 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 27-25 victory over Clear Falls in the Class 6A title match at the Curtis Culwell Center.

WHAT:

The celebration is open to the public and includes the following:

• The Woodlands High School Drum Line performance at 5 p.m.
• Parade of TWHS Lady Highlanders at 5:05 p.m.
• Welcoming remarks from Bruce Tough, Chairman of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors, and Gordy Bunch, Chairman of The Woodlands CVB Board of Directors, at 5:25 p.m.
• Presentation of the National Anthem at 5:30 p.m.
• Remarks from TWHS Principal Gregg Colschen, Volleyball Coach Leslie Madison and Volleyball Team Captain Courtney Quinn, from 5:35 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

From Houston, take I-45 North to the Woodlands Parkway exit, number 76B and travel west to Six Pines Drive. At Six Pines, turn right. Continue past Lake Robbins Drive on Six Pines and Market Street will be on the left, directly across from The Woodlands Mall and just north of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
