THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Every year around the holidays, the College Park High School football program raises money to buy toys for underprivileged youth and families in the Houston area so that they will have a great holiday.

This year is different for the Cavaliers, as they have decided to take their giving spirit and help a local family deal with a difficult situation.

Spring High School Junior cornerback Korey McNeal, 16, was injured during Spring’s Class 6A Division II Regional Final playoff game against Waco Midway on November 28. Korey suffered two broken vertebrae as a result of trying to make a defensive tackle on a goal line play. Spring High School Head Coach Sam Parker stated that Korey “did everything right.”

Cavaliers Head Coach Richard Carson then began to think about turning this year’s Christmas project and going all in to help Korey and his family.

“Our kids jumped on board with the idea. He’s not one of our teammates, but he’s one of us,” said Carson.

College Park continues to raise money and donations for Korey McNeal and his family.

A Korey McNeal Benevolent Fund has been established with the Spring ISD Educational Foundation. Tax-deductible donations can be made on his behalf to Spring ISD Educational Foundation, 16717 Ella Blvd., Houston, Texas, 77090.
