MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of freon, but it could be as much as two to five pounds of freon, depending on the size of the air conditioning unit, in addition to the misery of not having a working AC unit on a hot, humid day. All the more reason Cypress Creek Air Conditioning & Heating Company stresses the importance of preventative maintenance.

“Preventative maintenance on your AC and heating units is the life of the equipment,” said Dave Williams, co-owner of Cypress Creek. “It’s the equivalent of oil changes and tune-ups to your automobile.”

Williams and brother, Ernie, have a vested interest in their business reputation for customer service...literally. They purchased the company from their father in 2004, and have every intention of perpetuating their father’s legacy of integrity and customer-oriented service.

“Dad formed the business in 1979 when he became frustrated with being unable to get dependable AC service,” said Williams. “He established business practices based on how he wanted to be treated as a customer.”

Cypress Creek prides itself on growing trusting customer relationships through consistency. The technician who will will perform your preventative maintenance or service call, will be the one who has been involved in the customer relationship from the beginning.

“The same technician will measure and size up what you need, provide the estimate, install it, and perform the routine maintenance. We don’t outsource,” said Williams. “Technicians serve the same client each service call, to develop that relationship, and who knows your equipment intricately.”

Their residential services include new furnace and air conditioner equipment installation. Cypress Creek takes pride in being the oldest premier Lennox dealer in Montgomery County. Preventative maintenance visits are scheduled two times a year, and repair work is available both day and night. Senior discounts are offered, and estimates are free on second opinion equipment failures.

“Our VIP maintenance program has been a big win-win. It is a win for the customer with two services checks a year, discounts on repairs and replacement equipment, and priority scheduling for repair appointments,” said Williams. “It’s a win for us because it provides a constant stream of work, and a win for the technicians by eliminating down time.”

All Cypress Creek’s technicians are background checked, drug-screened, bonded and insured, and are customers themselves. They all have the same equipment they recommend. Most importantly, they are all NATE certified...North American Technician Excellence for HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) systems, which requires annual recurrent training and a required continuing education units (CEUs) on new new industry methods and procedures.

"We don't do electrical, plumbing, or lawn care. We specialize in air conditioning and heating services," said Williams. "You won't have to worry about a plumber being sent out to work on your AC in the heat of the summer, because the AC techs are overloaded."

Scheduling is of the highest priority. Every Tuesday morning the whole team comes together for a scheduling meeting to focus on the maintenance program.

“We’ve been holding this meeting for eighteen years. If we didn’t, we could go two or three weeks without seeing each other,” said Williams. “We put on the coffee and bring in the kolaches and donuts, and discuss the maintenance program and how we can improve it. If there’s an issue, it’s resolved within the week.”

Williams maintains that this camaraderie is the glue that bonds the company together, and that their workforce truly loves their jobs, so much so, that new positions are often filled by extended family members of the company.

“We invest a lot in our technicians. I’ll put our training up against every other company in our industry,” said Williams. “That’s why we have low attrition. Many of our technicians and staff have been with us for years; some as many as 12 years. We just don’t have turn-over,” he added.

Being a family-owned business that has embodied a family-like atmosphere, is a major source of competitive advantage Williams admits.

“People don’t want a ‘mom and pop’ operation, but they like our sense of family. We are a family, and people like doing business with people like themselves,” said Williams.

Centrally located in Montgomery County east of I-45N and south of SH 242, the company’s sphere of service includes Conroe and Lake Conroe, Humble/Kingwood, Magnolia, Montgomery, Oak Ridge North, Pinehurst, Shenandoah, Spring, Tomball, Willis, and North Harris County.

“We want to keep our trucks within a close range in the event of emergency calls, with a 20-minute drive time to the customer,” said Williams. “Response time is important when you’re without air conditioning.”

Being active in the industry and in the community is also a priority with Cypress Creek. The original owner, dad, served a term as president of the Houston Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, and Dave and Ernie intend to follow in his footsteps with community involvement.

Cypress Creek gives you their personal promise that they won’t be happy until their customer is 100% satisfied. Call 281-817-6454 for more information.

“We stand behind our promise and our services,” added Williams. "If you’re looking for air conditioning or heating services, give us a call. You and your home deserve a breath of fresh air.”
