THE WOODLANDS, Texas – On Thursday, May 21, seven graduating seniors walked the stage at Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy. The Class of 2015 is the second class to graduate at Legacy Prep, and 2015 is also the year that the school celebrates its 10th anniversary.

A Private Christian School located off of Research Forest Drive, Legacy has a simple mission: to inspire students to be college-worthy, character witnesses of Christ. Students are taught a college preparatory curriculum based on a biblical worldview, and now the seven seniors are ready to take on the world. Whether attending college, getting an internship or serving The United States of America, Legacy has prepared the students for whatever goals they have in the future.

In alphabetical order, the graduates were as follows: Sarah Cruthirds, Branson Fredricks, Gabe Locke, Kyle Maiz, Adele Mouna, Rebecca Schardt, and Logan Teal. Between the seven seniors, $200,000 in scholarships were represented.

The graduation ceremony began with the Address, given by Audra May, the Founder and Head Administrator of Legacy.

“Congratulations, seniors. I know it feels like a long hard road, but believe me, when you look back on this you’ll realize how fast time flies,” said May. “You are indeed a special class. I would like to tell you that I am proud of you. I know how hard you’ve worked. I love you, your parents love you, your teachers love you, and you should know that we will be praying for you. We will pray that you will stand firm, we will pray that you represent God wherever you go, we will pray that you will share Jesus, that you will live much, that you will laugh often, and that you will please come back soon.”

The ceremony continued with the Commencement speech from Legacy alumna Katherine Beeman, and the Acknowledgement of Class Distinction from the High School Principal, Joann Manning. The seven seniors were then presented their diplomas.

Rebecca Schardt, the salutatorian, has attended Legacy Prep for eight years, and will be continuing her education at Abilene Christian University to study social work. Schardt was also awarded the Abilene Christian University Presidential Scholarship.

At the age of 16, Adele Mouna is graduating from Legacy Prep as valedictorian, and plans to attend Texas A&M to study engineering and project management, after completing a year-long internship.

“I couldn’t be anymore thankful that I’ve had the opportunity to attend a school like Legacy for the past six years,” said Mouna. “All the late nights staying up studying for calculus tests and making last minute touches on papers due in the morning weren’t for nothing. No matter where we go or what we will do, whether it will be working in the medical field or serving our country, there will be challenges ahead that we will all meet head on. But what will differentiate us from the rest of the world will be our ability to meet those challenges with our heads held high and our hearts wide open. Let’s all continue to strive for excellence in everything that we do: in every class, big or small.”

No matter what they have planned for the future, all seven seniors at Legacy are ready to go out into the world to chase their dreams. Read more about the Legacy graduation at Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy celebrates second graduating class.
