THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Leslie Madison, Head Coach of The Woodlands High School Volleyball Team, recently announced that she will be leaving TWHS to become Head Coach at Magnolia High School for one very important reason: her family.

Madison, who has been the coach at TWHS since 2004, has built a strong volleyball program and is a rising coach in the state of Texas. Not to mention, Madison and the Lady Highlanders have taken home the State Championship for the past two consecutive years. A force to be reckoned with in the world of high school volleyball, the Lady Highlanders have had an impressive run for the past 11 years.

Madison played volleyball while attending high school at Cy-Fair, and was even inducted into the Cy Fair High School Athletic Hall of Fame. She continued her volleyball career and went on to obtain a full scholarship to Southern Methodist University, earning many awards and achievements.

Now a resident of Magnolia with her husband, Lonnie, and three children, Mallory, Morgan, and Case, Madison’s decision was based on what was best for her family. She even hopes that maybe one day, she will have the chance to coach her daughters, who both play volleyball.

Madison will follow in the footsteps of former Magnolia High School Head Volleyball Coach, Terri Johnson. Johnson has been with Magnolia since 2001, and there is no doubt that Madison will continue the success of the program.

Leslie Madison has impacted many players at The Woodlands High School, with many obtaining scholarships to continue playing volleyball for well-known universities. She will be missed by many in The Woodlands community, but we all wish her the best of luck to her as she begins her first season with the Magnolia Lady Bulldogs.
