THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Yucatan Taco Stand, what a novelty it was back a few months ago. Recently I have seen myself going there more often, as they have really climbed up on my top 5 list of places to go eat. Why is that? Well for one, their tacos taste authentic, fresh and most importantly, they taste like a taco should!

Coming from a Mexican background, not only was I raised in a Mexican household, but I also have had the privileged of living and visiting multiple cities in Mexico, hence I tend to be harsh when it comes to judging Mexican food. What do they do differently here at Yucatan? For starters, the meat is prepared and marinated with garlic sauce, which gives it so much flavor, and a neatly cut taste. The lettuce and tomatoes don’t overwhelm the taste, but compliment giving it a crisp fresh balance, while the cilantro amplifies those characteristics. This tied everything together to bring forth a taste reminiscent of your higher end restaurants in Mexico, with the simplicity of the small business.

Since it is also a Tequila Bar, I had the Mojito and Long Island and they both did not disappoint. They were very well prepared, not watered down and most importantly, they were refreshing considering the hot summer days. I would give them a 4.5. out of 5, because they have really earned my trust in always providing a good quick and fresh meal, as well as a great atmosphere to hang out, relax and meet new people! Their food is great and drinks are good, but what can be worked on is the level of consistency when it comes to the orders placed, especially when you go with a group of people and some get their food first, while others get skipped. Overall, Yucatan Taco Stand is a great place. I would keep going there over and over, and hopefully it makes my top 3 soon!
