Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy announces Class of 2018 Valedictorian, Salutatorian

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) in The Woodlands, Texas has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for their graduating class of 2018.

Legacy Prep is excited to celebrate their fifth graduation ceremony at the end of this school year. Samantha Evrard has been named valedictorian and Spencer Berglund has been named salutatorian.

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12 th . The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college- worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

Samantha (Sami) Evrard is graduating from Legacy Prep as valedictorian. She attended Legacy Prep for seven years. Evrard was active in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society. She was also a cheerleader and ran track and field. Evrard will be attending Texas A&M University.

“Legacy has prepared me for my next step in life by challenging me with rigorous courses and allowing me to adapt to a college schedule before I’m completely on my own,” stated Evrard.

Evrard plans to attend Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree and then continue her schooling to get a doctorate as a nurse practitioner. She hopes to serve God daily in her work and life. “No matter what stage of life I’m in, I know I can make a difference simply by loving people and being a positive light from the church,” Evrard added.

According to Legacy principal Shannon Jones, “We are so very proud of Sami. She is such a responsible, hard-working student. Sami tutors younger students at Legacy and works to help them be successful. I have no doubt that Sami will go places and do great things with her heart of service.”

Spencer Berglund is graduating from Legacy Prep as salutatorian after attending Legacy Prep for six years. He will be attending Texas A&M University. Berglund participated in Legacy’s National Honor Society and student council.

“Legacy has prepared me for college by allowing me to learn from many great Christian role models. Their teachings have helped establish a strong conservative foundation by training me to think critically and work independently,” said Berglund.

Principal Jones added, “Spencer has been a great leader at Legacy. Spencer worked on committees on campus to make sure that his peers and teachers were being served. Spencer is president of the National Honor Society and a member of the Legacy student council. He never minds working with students and teachers to get things done around the school.”
