THE WOODLANDS, TX –- As Oak Ridge and The Woodlands warmed up, the weather took a turn for the worse. Dark clouds surrounded the Highlander field. With a stroke of luck, the rain stayed away and the ball game continued as scheduled.

Oak Ridge got off to a quick lead by bringing in 4 runs before the inning was over. The Woodlands was able to almost match their first inning by scoring 3 in the bottom of that first inning.

As Oak Ridge increased their lead, The Woodlands choked up on the bat and hit 2 tanks over the outfield wall brining in 6 runs and making it a 1-point game. While it looked like The Woodlands was out of the game, the 2 home runs gave them a second chance and their first lead of the game. Oak Ridge wasn’t able to match the momentum in the following inning and gave up 3 batters to the infield.

The Woodlands banged out another tank over the wall in the following inning increasing their lead by 4. In the final inning Oak Ridge was determined to make a come back by getting a couple of base hits. Although a strong finish for the Oak Ridge War Eagles, The Woodlands Highlanders were able to hold off their attack and finish the game in the top of the 7th.
