2024 Hometown Hero Nominations Being Accepted

THE WOODLANDS. TX -- Nominations for 2024 Hometown Heroes are being accepted, beginning today, August, 2023. The deadline for nominations is September 15, 2023. The honor will be bestowed upon individuals and/or a business, institution, or nonprofit that serve as outstanding role models for volunteerism and dedication to The Woodlands’ community.

The newly selected Hometown Heroes will be inducted into the Hometown Heroes Hall of Fame at The Woodlands 2024 Celebration of Excellence gala benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands, to be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. The gala will serve as the finale of a year of celebrating Interfaith’s 50th Anniversary. This will also serve as the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Hometown Heroes since this annual tradition began in conjunction with The Woodlands 25th Anniversary Celebration in 1999.

A Selection Committee composed of a group of past Hometown Heroes will choose honorees for 2024. Three individuals one business or institution, and one nonprofit will be selected from those nominated by the public. Nomination forms are available online at www.woodlandsinterfaith.org.

Nominations are accepted for those who embody the qualities listed below, leading professional and/or public service efforts that have positively impacted and added to the quality of life of The Woodlands Community.

Nominations are independently reviewed by a committee of previously awarded Hometown Heroes Completed nomination forms should be emailed to development@woodlandsinterfaith.org, or delivered or mailed to Interfaith of The Woodlands located at 4242 Interfaith Way, The Woodlands, TX 77381 by 5:00PM , September 15, 2023.

The criteria the public should consider when nominating individuals or businesses for the distinction of Hometown Hero include:

• Positive role model

• History of volunteerism

• Sacrificing personal gain to achieve noble goals

• Special awards and recognitions

• Brought positive recognition to The Woodlands

• Embodies the values of The Woodlands community, ie. family values, the importance of education, the arts and culture, environmental consciousness

• Economic contributions to the community

• Leadership and courage

• Consistent dedication and commitment to worthy causes

• Representative of the diversity within the community

• Spiritual leadership

• Dedication to public service
