Coushatti Trace Chapter, NSDAR Day of Service October 2023

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- While October 11, 2023 is the official Day of Service for the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Coushatti Trace Chapter extended their service throughout the month of October! The chapter planned activities focused on Literacy Promotion with book donations, reading, and fundraising for library literacy programs. Chapter members distributed over 800 books and read to over 600 children! Books were donated to children ages preschool to teenager as well as to the hearing impaired, foster children, veterans, active duty military and seniors. Donations went to libraries, preschools, Head Start, "Operation Paperback", Veterans Treatment Court, and deployed units. Books were read at local preschools, elementary schools and the “All Ears” Listening and Language Center.
