CONROE, TX -- Kent Chambers, candidate for the Republican nomination to The Ninth Court of Appeals, recently visited with Veterans of The Lone Star Honor Flight Veterans Group near Lake Conroe on January 10th. Chambers and his campaign team served breakfast to the Veterans, who gather weekly on Wednesday’s at a warehouse in the Poplar Business Park, just off Old Hwy 105 in Conroe. The Veterans eat and fellowship, and for many Veterans it is the highlight of the week.

Chambers mixed and mingled with the Veterans explaining his reasons why he was running for The Court of Appeals. Texas has 14 courts of appeals with each having a jurisdiction in a specific geographical region of the state. The Ninth Court serves 10 counties in Southeast Texas from Montgomery County to the Texas-Louisiana border, and has appellate jurisdiction in both civil and criminal cases from district or county courts. Each of the appellate courts is presided over by a chief justice and has at least two other justices, but the specific number of justices varies depending on the size of jurisdiction. Generally, across the state, justices number from three to 13, with the Ninth Court allocated four justices, up to 13 for the largest jurisdictions.

“I have the qualifications, and talent, and skills to be a judge,” said Chambers to the Veterans. “I think we need good people, in every position, and at every level in government, and that’s why I’m running for the Republican nomination of The Ninth Court of Appeals. And I ask you for your support.”

Chambers recounted his father’s Air Force experience, from graduating Baylor to enlisting, officer training school, language training at Yale, then on to a career as an U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer. Two of Chamber’s brothers were born in Taiwan, as he bounced around following his father's military assignments.

“He is an unwavering Conservative Republican,“ said Veteran supporter Margarett Dorsett. “His skill as a lawyer makes him more than qualified to take on the appellate court with confidence and integrity.”

Chambers, a Baylor product with a Bachelor’s and Doctor of Law, or J.D., has 34 years experience as a civil trial lawyer, He has participated in over 150 trials, in 65 courts, in over 32 Texas counties. He has participated in 35 appeals, in 9 separate courts of appeals around Texas, and he has argued in front of the Texas Supreme Court. Kent is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Kent has been married to his bride Marisa for 38 years, and they have four daughters, Melissa, Rebecca, Reagan and Courtney. They as a brood steadfastly uphold Biblical family values. They have faced trials and tribulations over the years, but it has only drawn the family closer, which has enhanced their character and perseverance along the journey.

Chambers is adamantly Pro-Life. He sees Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, as a huge victory, making life for a fetus in The Country safer, but the battle is far from over. He served on the board of directors for the Southeast Texas Hope Center for Crisis Pregnancy. Chambers has participated in pro-life marches for many years, and he has supported pro-life candidates, in the quest to overturn Roe v. Wade.

In 1992, Chambers resigned from the American Bar Association, along with over 3000 lawyers across the country, embarrassed at the bar's adoption of Resolution 106(c); falsely asserting that abortion was a Constitutional right. Three decades later, the Supreme Court’s reversal of abortion proved the ABA wrong, but the organization still projects its abortion-on-demand agenda.

Kent and Marisa have welcomed their four sons-in-law, and ten grandchildren into their lives, all of whom live in Montgomery County.

Chambers grew up in a proud Christian home with three older brothers and a younger sister. His parents, Robert and Lois, have passed now but previously lived in Lufkin. Besides his father’s Air Force service, he was a music minister and bridge teacher, while his mother was a retired realtor, seamstress, and former Texas Federation of Republican Women board member.

Kent is a constitutional conservative, meaning he believes in judges faithfully adhering to the rule of law. He has seen too many judges legislate from the bench, and it causes much more distress with bad interpretations that take many years to correct. Time that had been lost due to diversions from what the rule of law entails.

“As a former lawyer myself, I find Kent Chambers worthy of the task,” said Veteran Charles White. “It takes a candidate with sturdy character, and a healthy respect for God’s Law and the Rule of Law, to be an effective Judge nowadays.”

And it’s the Rule of Law that Chambers is most concerned about. He is finding more and more people, citizens who have not been taught properly in schools in the basics and critical thinking, and it’s those people he fears would be content to be ruled by elites, while the anarchists would choose not to be ruled by law at all. Chambers aims to fight against those actively trying to distort the law, especially twisting Our Nation’s Founding Documents, to fit their political goals. And it’s Kent’s defense of the Rule of Law that makes him the right candidate for the Republican nomination to The Ninth Court of Appeals. His goal is to remain committed and true to the American ideal, for the Constitution must be defended from all attacks.

“As an appellate justice, my mission will always be to apply the written words of the law to the established facts of the case without political bias, “ said Chambers. “As Justice Antonin Scalia stated, ‘Words do have a limited range of meaning, and no interpretation that goes beyond that range is permissible.’”

Chambers is a big believer in Our Nation’s foundational rights, which are bestowed on us by our Creator and thus guaranteed to us in the US Constitution. He feels that must always be protected. Kent will fight for freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to assemble, the right to petition the government, and the right to keep and bear arms. For without those, there wouldn’t be much of a country to speak of.
