HS Boys Soccer: College Park Takes Victory Over New Caney in Defensive Battle

THE WOODLANDS, TX – College Park took on New Caney in their sixth game of the season. The Cavaliers (5-1) hosted the Eagles (2-3) on a calm Friday night.

New Caney would come out swinging getting a shot on goal early in the match but it was College Park’s defense that shined. The Cavaliers would end up shutting down the attacks from the Eagles for the majority of the first half.

College Park would find the back of the net after a couple of attacks on the goal in the 19^th minute of the match. This would essentially be the only goal but it was a dominating defensive battle between the two teams.

For much of the second half, College Park would control the ball and put pressure on the New Caney offense.

In the end College Park would be successful in stopping the scrappy New Caney attacks and would take the match 1-0.

College Park will take on Conroe on the road while New Caney hosts Willis next week.
