HOUSTON, TX --- Lone Star College received the Insight Into Diversity magazine’s 2024 Inspiring Programs in Business Award for providing comprehensive support for students from underrepresented groups who seek careers in business.

“Lone Star College is committed to ensuring all students receive the support necessary to help them reach their academic goals,” said Mario K. Castillo, J.D., LSC chancellor. “This recognition validates the dedication of our faculty and staff to our students and I am grateful for those efforts.”

In all, Insight Into Diversity magazine recognized 27 institutions and organizations nationwide. Winners were selected for their efforts to inspire and encourage a new generation of young people to consider careers in business through mentoring, teaching, research and successful programs and initiatives.

“We know that business programs are not always recognized for their success, dedication and mentorship for underrepresented students,” said Lenore Pearlstein, owner and publisher of Insight Into Diversity magazine in a statement. “We are thrilled to recognize those that create pathways for students who seek careers in a wide range of business sectors.”

Institutions and organizations recognized include Louisiana Tech University, Miami University, Syracuse University, The University of Oklahoma and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

“Lone Star College is proud to be in the company of such an elite group of colleges and universities who understand the importance of making sure all students seeking business careers get the support and resources necessary to lead a better life,” said Carlecia Wright, LSC chief culture and engagement officer.
