Lone Star College to host Veterans Resource Fair

Lone Star College will host a Veterans Resource Fair to help veterans access invaluable resources needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

HOUSTON, TX -- Lone Star College Veteran Services offers comprehensive programs to assist veterans in earning a college education. The college provided specialized support, resources and educational opportunities to the 4,019 veterans enrolled in spring 2024 classes.

“Lone Star College is committed to nurturing the academic and personal growth of all students, especially veterans, by offering high-quality educational and workforce programs,” said Gerald F. Napoles, Ph.D., LSC vice chancellor, Student Success. “Lone Star College salutes the selfless sacrifices that veterans displayed in serving our country and we are devoted to helping them succeed in the classroom and beyond.”

LSC Veteran Services will host a Veterans Resource Fair Tuesday, March 26, from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at LSC-University Park. Veterans, military-affiliated students and the close community will have access to invaluable resources like health care services, educational and employment opportunities, housing assistance, financial guidance, legal support and emotional wellness programs. Additionally, there will be camaraderie-building activities and snacks.

“The Veterans Resource Fair is a one-stop hub designed to provide an array of support, services and opportunities to veterans who served our nation,” said Vickie Johnson, LSC executive director, Veteran Services. “Attendees will learn more about what Lone Star College has to offer, how to use and maximize their veteran benefits and speak with area employers seeking to fill job vacancies.”

LSC Veteran Services offers advising, Hazlewood benefits, GIBill® benefits, financial aid and registration services to help veterans pair their military training with relatable college programs, leading to successful second careers.
