IRONKIDS and Doggie Dash events set for April 20, 2024

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Preparations are underway for the 2024 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN® The Americas Championship Texas Triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, to take place in April along with the Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS Fun Run and Doggie Dash.

IRONKIDS Fun Run and Doggie Dash

The return of the Children’s Memorial Hermann Texas IRONKIDS Fun Run and Doggie Dash will kick off the events on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. in Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, 77380. The IRONKIDS events include the Diaper Dash (26.2 feet for independent crawlers under 2 years), the Toddler Dot Trot (for ages 1-3), half-mile (for ages 3-8) and mile (for ages 5-17). Designed to inspire young athletes and promote healthy living, this exhilarating event promises a day filled with excitement, outdoor activities and community spirit. Following the children's races, the highly anticipated Doggie Dash begins at approximately 11:15 a.m., inviting leashed and vaccinated dogs aged six months and older, along with their handlers aged 12 and over, to participate in two exciting courses. The "Doggie Bag" provided to participants includes a dog's race bib and bandana. When the race is done, competitors earn a Finisher dog tag, making every furry friend feel like a champion. Safety is paramount, and all dogs are required to be socialized and comfortable around crowds and other dogs, ensuring a stress-free and enjoyable experience for all. In addition to the races, participants can look forward to an array of fun activities at the Village booths, starting at 8:30 a.m. From mingling with mascots to navigating obstacle courses, enjoying arts and crafts, and indulging in snow cones, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

The Memorial Hermann IRONMAN® Texas triathlon takes place Saturday, April 27, 2024, with the swim, bike and run courses throughout the area.
