THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Honey Bee Ham, a local business that was previously voted the best burger in Montgomery County, has been in the Cochran’s Crossing shopping center for 19 years. The present owner Lisa Matthys has been working to make Honey Bee Ham the best it can be every day for seven years.

“We’re a Mom and Pop [business], and we’re well-known for how much we care, and our really good restaurant service,” Matthys said. “Most of the crew have been here for 10 years, and I think that’s a really outstanding thing.”

Matthys and her late husband got into the restaurant business when they moved here from California.

“We were looking to buy a business completely different from what we did before, and Honey Bee happened to be for sale.”

Owning a restaurant has presented some new challenges, but for Matthys it is rewarding. “I’m my own boss and with that comes freedom, although there are many more responsibilities,” Matthys said. “I like to work with and get to know the customers, and my staff feel like family.”

Honey Bee Ham serves all homemade food. They offer catering for special events with a $30 minimum for delivery. To order, call the store at (281) 364-9200. For a full menu, visit the link below.
