THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Vedas MedSpa in The Woodlands is hosting a Psychic Fair Halloween party on October 30 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with light refreshments and revelations from a channeling psychic.

Deborah Burns, director of the Divine Way of Life Center, will be on hand to share her life of psychic exploration, in which she frequently channels spirits in the ethereal world. Around 2010, she began to be visited by a number of famous rock and roll musicians, all looking to tell their stories through her. She wrote their tales of the afterlife, death experiences, advice on living and musings on life today into a book, "For the Record" published by Balboa Press.

In the book, she channels the thoughts of John Lennon, Michael Jackson, John Denver, George Harrison, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles and more. "Janis told me about going to her high school reunion and how it just about broke her heart. It makes me cry every time," Burns said.

The project took three years, and Burns insists she was an unlikely candidate. "The first time I got the inclination to do this, I was ironing and watching a John Wayne movie. It was four days after Stevie Ray Vaughan died in a chopper accident. I had this nagging urge to pick up a pen," Burns said. "I was busy, but it was relentless…. I wasn't a fan, I didn't even know who he was. He was trying to get acclimated. He saw a light and it turned out to be me."

Burns shares Buddy Holly's feelings on dying in a tragic plane crash, as well as Waylon Jennings' haunted remorse that he wasn't on that same plane. She details that Elvis is amused by all his rhinestone-clad impersonators.

"Everybody's born with these abilities, but you learn to tune them out as a child. We have imaginary playmates, see ghosts, and have awarenesses," Burns said. "You are told you don't feel what you feel, and you don't hear what you're hearing." Burns had what she calls her "quickening" in 1986, when her awareness came out of dormancy. She learned to channel much later.

"The event is really about fun, to know that we all have an inner side to us," said Doctor Chaitali Nangrani of Vedas MedSpa. "The psychic is passionate about her inner side, so we'll have some fun and think about our inner self and our life journey."

Attendees will receive a $50 gift card good toward all Vedas MedSpa services, and everyone present will have their names entered for a grand prize secret giveaway at the event. You must be present to win.
