THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The John Cooper School senior Joe Jared is on the Top 25 Award List and in contention for the Guy V. Lewis Award, which honors the Greater Houston Area’s Top High School Basketball Player.

The award is presented annually to honor college basketball hall of fame coach, Guy V. Lewis, who led the University of Houston program from 1956–1986.

The Watch List for the Guy V. Lewis Award is culled down periodically throughout the season starting with the Top 100, to 50 and now 25. On March 15 The Guy V. Lewis Award Committee (GVLAC) in association with the VYPE High School Sports Network (VYPE) will announce the Top 10 finalists for the award, which will be presented April 3, 2014, at an awards dinner at the University of Houston Alumni Association’s Great Hall.
