State District 4 Senate election runoff election Aug 5

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The runoff election for the State District 4 Senate seat will be held Tuesday, August 5. The runoff will be between State Representative, Brandon Creighton, The early voting period will be held from Monday, July 28, through Friday, August, 2014.

Early voting will be held July 28 - August 1.


The four-candidate race on May 10, which included Creighton, Toth, former District 4 senator, Michael Galloway, and Woodlands Township Director, Gordy Bunch, offered the voters possibly one of the most experienced list of candidates in Montgomery County history. This resulted in splitting the vote four ways, preventing a majority and resulting in a runoff election.

The early voting numbers were a foreshadowing of the final election results…

Brandon Creighton 5,884 votes 48.85%

Steve Toth 2,976 votes 27.71%

Gordy Bunch 2,325 votes 19.30%

Michael Galloway 861 votes 7.15%



After the close of the polls election night, the results remained the same with no majority vote- getter.

Brandon Creighton 8,936 votes 46.20% Steve Toth 5,266 votes 27.23% Gordy Bunch 3,780 votes 19.54% Michael Galloway 1,359 votes 7.03% During the early voting period from July 28 - August 1, voters will vote at the central election site in their communities. Election Day, August 5, voters will vote in their respective precincts.

The General Election held on Tuesday, November 4, will decided 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate that are being contested, for six-year terms from January 3, 2015, to January 3, 2021. Special elections may be held to fill vacancies that have occurred during the 113th United States Congress. The elections to the U.S. House of Representatives, elections for governors in states and territories, and many state and local elections will also be held on this date.
