CHI St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands Hospital to host “Be Aware” Breast Health Speaker Series in October

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, CHI St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands Hospital joins the fight against breast cancer with a special “BeAware” breast health speaker series in October.

The “Be Aware” educational speaker series is designed to help individuals stay informed and encourage breast health through routine screenings ?being more aware begins with better care. The series is free, open to the public and will be held in the First Floor Conference Room #4 at The Woodlands Hospital located at 17200 St. Luke’s Way at the corner of I-45 and Hwy. 242/College Park Drive. Complimentary valet parking is available at the hospital’s lobby entrance.

The “Be Aware” series will feature the following topics:

To schedule a mammogram at The Woodlands Hospital, call 936-266-2002. The hospital offers extended weekday hours as well as Saturday appointments for mammography.

The American Cancer Society recommends routine screening mammography at age 40. The Woodlands Hospital offers the latest in breast imaging technology with 3D mammography, which provides sharper and better quality images, resulting in the earlier detection of small tumors. For women with a strong family history of breast cancer, The Woodlands Hospital provides MRI breast screening, and for those who need a biopsy, the hospital offers ultrasound, stereotactic, and MRI-guided biopsies.

The Woodlands Hospital’s medical staff includes an onsite fellowship-trained breast radiologist, as well as an onsite fellowship-trained breast pathologist. The Woodlands Hospital is the first hospital in Montgomery County to have achieved status as a “Breast Imaging Center of Excellence” by the American College of Radiology.
