America's Family Dental dentists help transform lives in the Dominican Republic

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - All three of the dentists from America’s Family Dental recently completed a mission trip in the Dominican Republican where they were able to provide hands-on dental care to local residents in desperate need of their help.

Drs. Gosnell, Turner and Flores spent five days in the Dominican Republic as part of a mission trip organized by Implant Seminars and Dr. Arun Garg from Miami Beach, FL. This particular trip was a surgery based trip where the dentists were able to perform many services including helping people regain bone and place dental implants so these patients could eat and just function as normal human beings again.

This is the second trip the dentists have made to this community to provide assistance; the first was two years ago, in 2012. “All three of us are diplomats of the American Dental Implant Association and it was our pleasure to be able to bring our expertise to the Dominican Republican and help some people who are in great need,” said Diego Flores, DDS.

“We love going on these trips. It’s wonderful to be able to do this. And the work is just as fulfilling and rewarding to us as doctors as it is to the patients,” said Robert Turner, DDS. “I can’t wait to return again next year.”

The people served on this mission trip are not able to afford the type of dental work they are receiving and it’s a credit to Dr. Garg and his foundation for putting these trips together and gathering some of the best dental implant surgeons in the country to give their time and expertise to the cause.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to help the good people of the Dominican Republic get their smiles back, gain some confidence and ultimately give them the opportunity to improve their careers and their life,” said Josh Gosnell, DDS. “It’s truly a blessing to be involved in this mission.”
