“Fighting Cancer in Montgomery County” announces its Tea with Santa’s Helpers

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - The non-profit organization FAITH - “Fighting Cancer in Montgomery County” provides emotional and financial support for cancer patients and their families. It also assists in educational and preventative care programs.

This is accomplished through generous donations from businesses, individuals, and dedicated fundraising volunteers. Since 2010, FAITH has raised more than $100,000! Through its programs, nearly 400 people have been assisted annually.

Next on FAITH’s calendar is “Tea with Santa’s Helpers”. The 2nd Annual Tea will help fulfill the wishes of Pediatric Cancer Patients. The fun fundraiser will be Wednesday, December 3, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Waterpoint Lakeside Venue at 15264 Highway 105 West in Montgomery. The waterfront event venue is directly behind CVS Pharmacy on 105. Tickets are only $50 per person.

Angell Wright and Pat Bourgeois are Co-Chairs of this year’s Tea. They are both cancer survivors and know how important early detection can be.

Angell said, “We feel so privileged to be part of the group of FAITH volunteers who work so hard to support our neighbors who have this dreaded disease. Come help us be a “Santa’s Helper” and provide Christmas for 10 cancer-affected families. You can help an individual family member or adopt an entire family. When you hear their stories, your heart will definitely want to support them.”

Pat added, “We are planning a fun afternoon. Chocolate Passions will serve tea on lovely cups donated by Judy Burks plus tea sandwiches, scones, and fruit and cheese skewers. They are also donating a lovely chocolate cake with raspberry filling and pink icing to coordinate with the motif. Our table decorations will be provided by Garlaine Kelly of Encore Designs and Sandy Riney.”

There will be informal modeling of “Tea Outfits” provided by Judy Burks and her Hello Beautiful Boutique while attendees listen to the “History of Tea”. Suzanne Ray’s thespians from Montgomery High School will entertain with a Christmas Skit and help attendees get into the Christmas Spirit.

FAITH "Fighting Cancer" in Montgomery County is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization, which is run entirely by volunteers. Most of them have dealt with cancer either personally or with close family members and friends. They realize that not only the patient but also the entire family can go through traumatic changes--and assistance may be hard to find.
