Avoid putting yourself at risk this holiday season

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Savvy shoppers could have averted the crowd and the chaos at The Woodlands Mall at the Footlocker Sunday, by doing some comparison shopping first, and possibly saving some dollars at the same time.

At approximately 4:00 a.m. Sunday, December 13, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to 911 request to use force, as a crowd grew to purchase the Air Jordan 11 Retro Legend Blue sneakers at a mall store.

In trying to maintain crowd control, one individual was tased by a Sheriff’s deputy. This was confirmed by Lt. Brady Fitzgerald, communications officer with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, but as is customary in every incident where the use of force is applied, no official comment on the case will be made until it is reviewed by the MCSO, while it is an ‘active investigation.’ Complete review of the case will determine whether the use of a taser was necessary.

In the meantime, the shoes are being actively sold on line in price ranges from approximately $100 to $500. In many cases the sellers are asking what the public will bare, with eBay resellers charging the highest prices.
