TWCA athlete signs with Yale University

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - It’s official; Mary Catherine Fletcher of The Woodlands Christian Academy signs with Yale University where she will be continuing her exemplary career competing in gymnastics.

Mary Catherine is a level 10 gymnast and trains at Aim Athletics Training Center in The Woodlands, Texas. She has been a gymnast since the age of 5, and currently trains 25 hours per week, 6 days a week. Her coaches are Debbie Kaitschuck, Deana Parish, and James Williams. Mary Catherine declined athletic scholarships, as well as an impressive walk on offer from a top SEC school, to accept Yale’s offer.

“Academics are extremely important”, stated Candice Fletcher, Mary Catherine’s mom, “Woodlands Christian has been such a blessing and so instrumental in helping shape her path”. Mary Catherine currently is a senior and maintains a balance of gymnastics, academics and community service.
