Area country band to perform at CMA Fest in Nashville

SPRING, Texas – Sawdust Road, a progressive country band from Houston has been nominated for five awards at Nashville Universe. The award nominations include nods for Entertainer of the Year, Shooting Star, Song of the Year (Not Your Memory), Video of the Year (Not Your Memory) and Vocal Group of the Year.

Fresh off of their #6 finish on The Iceman’s Cavern Top 40 of 2014 New Country Artist Chart, the band received news that they had been nominated for the awards at Nashville Universe.

“We are honored to be nominated by the fans at Nashville Universe,” said Mary Michelle, lead singer of Sawdust Road. “We are humbled to be considered with all the talented artists.”

Sawdust Road’s music has been played nationally and internationally in Australia, New Zealand, France, England, Ireland, Denmark and Austria. The preliminary round of voting for The Nashville Universe Awards ends on January 31, 2015. The finalists will be revealed in February and the awards will be on February 23 in Nashville.

Sawdust Road is 'Not your momma's country!' A 6-piece progressive country band out of Houston, Texas, it is built around the powerhouse vocals of Mary Michelle. The band also features Loren Jay Gough on guitar, John Lange on guitar and vocals, Bill Landrith on Bass, Henry Salomon on keyboard and vocals and David Casillas on drums.
