Oak Ridge swim & dive team members break a couple of school records

OAK RIDGE, Texas -- The Oak Ridge swimming and diving team had an excellent showing this past Saturday, January 24, at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.

District 16-6A team titles go to The Woodlands boys and Kingwood girls teams


Oak Ridge’s Anton Hoherz was the boys 1-meter diving champion, and set a new school diving record with a score of 552.55, breaking his own school record from last year. Teammate Casey Ponton placed second.

A new school record was set by Brooke Beddingfield in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.20, breaking the old school record from 2001.

Other members of the Oak Ridge swimming and diving team who will be moving on to compete in the regional meet on February 6 and 7 are:

GIRLS TEAM:
200 Medley relay: Emily Henson, Brooke Beddingfield, Sarah Dillard, & Naomi Lejeune
200 freestyle: Emily Henson
1-meter diving: Daphne Scheck
200 free relay: Naomi Lejeune, Sarah Dillard, Brooke Beddingfield, & Danielle Miles
100 backstroke: Emily Henson
100 breaststroke: Brooke Beddingfield*
400 free relay: Brooke Beddingfield, Hannah Robson, Sarah Dillard, & Naomi Lejeune

The Woodlands captured the boys team championship by winning the 500 freestyle relay which consisted of Rhorey Legendre, Barley Fields, Matt Anderson and David Killian. Kingwood, Atascocita and College Park.

Kingwood’s girls took the team championship, followed by College Park and The Woodlands.

The Region II-6A championships will be held at the Conroe ISD Natatorium on February 6 and 7.
