TWHS swimmer Lucie Nordmann recognized by CISD Board of Trustees

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands High School’s Lucie Nordmann was recognized at the Board meeting Tuesday night for winning the 2015 State 6A Girls’ 100-Yard Backstroke State Championship at the Texas Swim Center in Austin on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Lucie, a freshman, finished the race in 53.38 seconds to win the title.

When asked about Lucie, The Woodlands High School – Ninth Grade Campus Principal Dr. Chris Povich said, “Lucie is a hard worker both in the pool and in the classroom. Teachers describe Lucie as a student that shows poise, humility, and purpose in all that she works on. She is the student that staff enjoy working with and look forward to watching her achieve her dreams.”

Dr. Chris Povich introduced Coach Kent Kirchner to the Board of Trustees who then introduced Lucie. In his remarks to the Board, Coach Kirchner said that he looks forward repeating this celebration with Lucie over the next three years.
