THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Houston Area REALTORS (HAR) Board of Directors recently endorsed the upcoming Montgomery County Road Bond election. A political ad authorized by the HAR stated full support for the $350 million road bond and the 77 projects on it that will significantly improve traffic in Montgomery County with major road repairs and upgrades.

According to proponents, approval of the upcoming 2015 road bonds will go a long way toward improving mobility and safety throughout Montgomery County. The projects on the bonds were determined by precinct residents, the precinct commissioners, volunteer private engineering firms and other experts. Montgomery County Commissioners Court took the original number of proposed projects – well over 100 – and determined the 77 essential projects that could, based on the county’s recent and projected growth, be performed in a bond amount that would not include an increase in taxes.

“Montgomery County has seen tremendous growth, bringing with it more traffic to our already-burdened county roadways,” said Deborah Spangler 2015 HAR Montgomery County Political Affairs Advisory Leadership Chair. “This bond is a long-awaited action to addressing our traffic needs in Montgomery County so that we can continue to be an accessible community.”

The HAR Board of Directors also reminded voters that early voting for the bond begins on April 27 and goes through May 5. The actual election day for the bonds is May 9, but Spangler encourages county residents to take advantage of the multiple early voting locations as they vote for the bond.
