The Woodlands Sole Expo set for August 9

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - On August 9, The Woodlands Sole Expo Mind+ Body+ Sole (Presale tickets $15/$20 at the door; 1-6pm) will be holding an all ages event at Legends Sport Complex (602 Pruitt Rd, The Woodlands, TX 77380 (281) 298-5700). This show intends to bring in a very large crowd. As the main focus will be on the hottest sneakers; (they will be able to be purchased, sold and traded here) there will also be over 200 vendors including live DJ’s, food of all varieties, local breweries and wineries, massage tables, hair stylists and barbers, 5 bounce houses for kids, over 1000 giveaways. Also live competitions including a 3 point contest with the winner receiving a pair of Trinidad James’ personal pair of shoes. Some female vendor companies include Scentsy, Avon, Mary Kay and Glo Sun Spa. Tickets sold at WoodlandsSole.com. 5 cans of food or 5 school supplies = $5 off at Door. Up to 5 pair of shoes per person to bring in and trade or sell.

Woodlands Sole Expo will also be giving back to the community by collecting school supplies and backpacks for CISD as well as canned good for the Montgomery County Food bank. There will be a silent auction with many items from professional athletes and items donated by the local community with proceeds benefitting local organizations. Also affiliated will be the Legends Sports Complex 501c3 organization, which puts kids into after school or sporting programs that cannot afford it.

This event has backing from major sponsors in The Woodlands area including but not limited to; Woodforest National Bank, Chick-fil-A, Premier Builders, Kid’s Directory, Texas Truck Works, Green Air- Air Conditioning and Heating & Legends Sports Complex. Portion of the proceeds go to local charities. Trinidad James will be hosting the show along with DJ Michael 5000 Watts who will DJ but play all genres of music, and a performance by Houston’s own, Lil’ Flip the last 30 minutes of the show.

The Woodlands Sole Expo Mind+ Body+ Sole is the brainchild of Trey Diller, 25, graduate Sam Houston State University and a resident of The Woodlands his whole life. Trey wanted to host an event that gives everybody the opportunity to showcase their products in a town that is booming and rapidly growing. These shoe shows bring in the likes of 10,000 plus people at some events and even more in the big cities. They also give the general population the ability to come in and trade amongst each other as well as the vendors. “My goal is to give the local companies an opportunity to expose their products to a crowd that will be very diverse and interactive within each other at a show that doesn’t target one market of people by focusing on only one product.”

In big towns there are fairs or carnivals. The Woodlands is growing faster than anyone imagined. It is lacking an event that brings in and welcomes all people to experience what the Woodlands is all about.
