THE WOODLANDS, Texas — There’s no denying this community is great at rallying around those in need.

The Ivanovsky family needs your support. They have seven children, ages 15 to five, and in a tragic accident they lost their daughter at the beginning of the month.

On August 10th, Emma, the second oldest of the seven children, went to California to visit her great grandmother. While learning to drive a tractor on the ranch, an accident occurred in which Emma did not survive.

Paul Ivanovsky, in a statement on Facebook, shared, “Tiffany and I are truly devastated and we are just trying to make sense of something that has no explanation. Emma is our oldest daughter at 15 and has been truly the biggest blessing in so many ways that we have no idea how we will manage without her.”

Emma, a student from College Park, was beloved by not just her family, but the whole community. Emma was an active member of the College Park freshman and junior varsity softball teams, and also played softball at SMGSL for many years. A group of College Park softball players have rallied together to create a beautiful shirt in honor of Emma, #EmmaStrong, in which they have a goal to sell 100 shirts. The proceeds of the shirt will help the family.

Chick-fil-A on Sawdust Road will also host a Spirit Night on August 19 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Twenty percent of the sales of the night will be donated to the family.

A celebration of Emma’s life will also be August 19 at 8:30 p.m. at the SMGSL Fields, located at 1080 Pruitt Road on Field 1. The first 100 people to the vigil will receive candles and this event is an opportunity for those who knew and loved Emma to share special memories they had of her. If you would like to share a memory, it is asked that you please email Chris Gladden at c.gladden@comcast.net.

Paul is an accomplished blogger and created of the highly followed “I Heart the Mart” blog.

Paul closed with these words, “We love you Emma, we will miss you but at the same time are so grateful to know that however much this hurts we will see you again.”
