The Varsity FOOTBALL team played Cypress Christian on Friday, October 2.

Michael Gerberwas 20-38 for 183 with one touchdown passing. He had 14 rushes for 33 yards and one touchdown. Kevin Henry had seven receptions for 96 yards. Trent Burgesshad three receptions for 46 yards and one touchdown.
Next up for the Dragons: SPC away game at St. Andrew’s Episcopal on Friday, October 9 at 7 p.m.

Varsity CROSS COUNTRY teams participated in Cavalier Invitational on October 2.
The cross country teams competed in the Cavalier Invitational at College Park High School, minus two boys’ team members who would compete at Nike South on Saturday.

Dragon varsity girls’ team finished in 5th place at Cavalier Invitational

Comments from Coach Matt Bohan: "This was a smaller meet where we competed against 10 5/6A Public schools. We were very happy with the efforts of our girls’ team as six of our eight runners had personal bests in the 5000 meter run. Freshman Caroline Courtney led the team in 17th place with a time of 21:06. She was followed by junior Claire Varnai (21:29) and senior Kylie Melodick (21:56) who finished 22nd and 29th respectively. Rounding out the top five scorers was freshman Ava Minarovic in 31st (22:07) and freshman Emily Black in 32nd (22:10)."

Dragon varsity boys’ team finished in 6th place at Cavalier Invitational

Comments from Coach Matt Bohan: "The varsity boys’ team ran well too but, without the top two runners, only managed to finish in the sixth place as a team. We did have some members run their personal best as well, which is the progression we were hoping for."

Mullen finishes 16th at Nike South

Comments from Coach Matt Bohan: “We had our top two boys run in the Elite Race at Nike South. Ryan Mullen finished 16th amongst some of the best runners in the state. He recorded a personal best in the 5K race of 16:17.1. Jonathan Goodridge also ran in the race finishing 41st place with a time of 16:51. The boys ran well in great conditions."

Lake Houston Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10. at 7 a.m. at Hargrave High School in Huffman

Comments from Assistant Coach Amber Clevenger: “The girls certainly improved in many areas that we have been working on in practice and they used this game to get better. Kara O'Neal who has been injured, showed in this game that she is back in a big way. I was proud of the way the girls came together as a team for another SPC win.”
