VOLLEYBALL: Oak Ridge, The Woodlands to proceed to Regional Quarterfinals

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Oak Ridge and The Woodlands volleyball teams saw success at their area round of playoffs as they beat their opponents 3-2 and 3-0, respectively, and will move on to play in the Regional Quarterfinals.

After a 3-2 neck-and-neck battle in the bi-district round of playoffs against Montgomery, The Woodlands came back to the second round and swept Round Rock Westwood 25-20, 25-23, 25-23. The Lady Highlanders will return to neutral ground at Brenham High School Tuesday, November 10 to face Lake Travis.

For the Lady War Eagles, getting to the second round of playoffs was seamless after they swept Klein High School earlier in the week. However, they were forced to step up their game even more when they went all five sets in a thriller against Round Rock. They finally pulled through and won in the fifth set 17-15. Oak Ridge will face Westlake, who beat College Park 3-1, at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas Tuesday, November 10 at 6 p.m.
