Township special meeting: new board members sworn in & officers elected

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS - The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a special Board of Directors meeting Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, at 6 p.m. The entire meeting can be watched on video at The Woodlands Township website (www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov).

New Directors take oath of office: John McMullan, Pos 5; Ann Snyder, Pos 6; and Laura Fillault, Pos 7,


The Board of Directors took the following actions before conducting business on Consent and Regular agenda items:


Approved the forms of the Oaths of Office, Official Bonds and Statements of Elected/Appointed Officers for the newly elected Directors of The Woodlands Township.

Approved and read a proclamation in recognition of The Woodlands High School Cross-Country’s recent state championship.

Administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Directors of The Woodlands Township, those being John P. McMullan, Ann Snyder and Laura Fillault.

Elected Officers for the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Township to be as follows: Chairman Ed Robb, Vice Chairman Mike Bass, Secretary Gordy Bunch and Treasurer Laura Fillault.

Appointed the newly elected Directors to the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone.

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:


Approved proclamations in honor of retiring Board Directors Peggy S. Hausman and Bruce Tough.

Received Administrative Reports for November 2015 for Law Enforcement and Community Policing.

Received Transportation Administration Reports for November 2015.

The Board of Directors then moved on to take the following actions on the Regular Agenda:


Received a presentation from Ryan Gable, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable, regarding the Law Enforcement Investigative Services - Crimes Against Children program, a task force partially funded by The Woodlands Township to investigate cases involving crimes against children.

Took no action on the Township’s October 2015 financial report agenda item. The report will be presented to the Board at the December 10, 2015, Board of Directors meeting.

Adopted the schedule of meeting dates for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors for the 2016 calendar year. A motion was accepted to change the format of Board meetings to one regular 6 p.m. Wednesday evening meeting per month with a special morning meeting as needed.

Received a briefing on the process for Board and Committee appointments for the December 10, 2015, Board of Directors meeting.

Immediately following the regular meeting, the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Township Ecconomic Development Zone held a meeting, which is also available for viewing on the Township website. At this meeting, the Board took the following actions:


Approved the forms of the Oaths of Office, Official Bonds and Statements of Elected/Appointed Officers for the newly appointed Directors of The Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone.

Elected Officers for the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone to be as follows: Chairman Ed Robb, Vice Chairman Mike Bass, Secretary Gordy Bunch and Treasurer Laura Fillault.

Received and approved the meeting minutes of the November 19, 2014, Special Meeting of The Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone.

Received and acknowledged Township Orders 016-15 and 017-15, adding land and redefining the boundaries of the Economic Development Zone.

Received and accepted the Economic Development Zone financial report for the third quarter 2015.
