THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The 14th Annual Fall Home & Garden Show The Woodlands will take place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13 and 14, 2016, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, 1601 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands.

“Homeowners will have an opportunity to learn about and see the latest in home-improvement products from over 200 exhibitors, among them a variety of experts providing energy-saving, environmentally friendly trends in homebuilding and remodeling,” said Tony Wood, president of Texwood Shows Inc., producer of the spring and fall home and garden shows in The Woodlands.

Whether interested in updating their current homes, outdoor living spaces or even starting from scratch with a home built from the ground up with custom specifications, those attending the show will have a chance to learn what questions to ask, where to turn for help, or simply how to get started.

Joining the show this year is Haggards Rustic Goods, a Plantersville-based retailer that crafts picture frames, rustic coolers, vegetable bins, tables and more out of genuine weathered barn wood for use indoors or out.

Stephen Hann, president of Hann Builders, a leader in sustainable building in the Houston area, is one of many experts who will provide custom-homebuilding guidance to those looking to diminish their carbon footprint with a new home. Also in attendance at the show will be representatives from Andersen Corp., recipient of the 2016 Energy Star Partner of the Year – Product Brand Owner Award, who will provide specifications and information on its Renewal by Andersen windows, with which homeowners can save money and energy, further reducing production of greenhouse gas emissions.

The always-popular Dr. Lori Verderame, syndicated columnist and star antiques appraiser on the Discovery Channel’s “Auction Kings,” will be on-hand both days of the show to provide one free appraisal, time permitting, to those bringing an item for her identification and valuation.

On Saturday, Randy Lemmon will broadcast KTRH AM 740’s GardenLine live from the show, following with a presentation entitled “Sizzling Summer Gardens – Q&A with Randy about the state of your garden!” In addition, Lemmon will discuss his new book “Texas Tough Gardening,” which he will sell and sign at events scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Throughout the weekend, H-E-B Cooking Connection chefs will be providing cooking demonstrations, and free samples while supplies last, from the Cunningham Gas Outdoor Cooking Stage. For die-hard foodies at the show, food trucks will be set up near the venue on both days, including: St. John’s Fire, featuring Fried Crawfish Mac & Cheese Balls – voted as a Top 10 Crawfish Dish in Houston by the Houston Press – and Cajun Egg Rolls as featured on the Food Network’s “Eat St.” And Cousins Maine Lobster will serve up its specialty ingredient in forms as varied as its Maine Lobster Roll and Cousins Lobster Tacos to Lobster tots.

Free covered parking is available in the parking garage behind the convention center next to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion at Six Pines and Lake Robbins. After parking take the pedestrian skywalk connected to the 4th floor of the garage that leads to the hotel/convention center. Follow the show signs to the lobby and the show entrance.
