THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce recently hosted the 2016 Chairman’s Ball.

Havana Nights, An Evening in the Islands took place Saturday, August 20 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott & Conference Center.

Keaton McDaniel is an Edward Jones financial advisor at 518 Sawdust Road in The Woodlands. Keaton has been involved with The Chamber for over 15 years as a Chamber member and volunteer, and took time during the program to reflect on his tenure.

Keaton also took the time to welcome the 2016-2017 Chairman, Linda Leto, Head of Lone Star Corporate College. “I want to say Congratulations to our new Chairman, Linda Head, for stepping into the position of Chairman. Everyone is very excited to support you and make it your most rewarding year of your life.”

Linda is currently the Associate Vice Chancellor, Workforce Education and Corporate Partnerships at Lone Star College System (LSCS).

“I am honored to follow Keaton McDaniel as this year’s board chairman and appreciate the trust and faith that the nominating committee has in me," she said. "My key goals for this year are: To value the strong foundation of the past. My husband and I have worked with leaders who worked for George Mitchell and/or after he retired. I plan to work with J.J. [Hollie] to be sure the Chamber is well connected with those leaders and organizations who designed and grew the Woodlands to what it is today to include Congressman Brady, Karen Hoylman, the prior chamber board chairs and those who lead the other business and community organizations in The Woodlands area. [My second goal is] to value the next generation of leaders – our future! J.J. has created an incredible team of strong young professionals and many of our members are part of that same generation. They are intelligent, quick learners, decisive problems solvers, experts with technology and extremely social! To stay relevant professionally, my generation has to take the opportunity to learn with this new generation. For it is only by working together can we insure The Woodlands remains the best place in Texas and in the U.S. to live, work and play.”
