John Cooper fourth-grader's drawing on display at Texas Capitol

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Hayley Smith’s drawing entitled “Last Minute Clean-up,” was selected to be a part of the Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month State Capital Artwork Exhibit in Austin.

Smith is a fourth grade student at The John Cooper School and her teacher, Amy Dietrich, attended an awards ceremony with her that was held in Austin on March 11.

The Youth Art Month Capitol Artwork Exhibit showcases works of art from students in Pre-k through Grade 12 from throughout the state of Texas. Artwork from Texas public school districts and private schools are represented in an exhibit that ran at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum February 25-March 11, and then moved to the Lower Rotunda of the Texas State Capitol Building, March 18-26.
