THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Junior League of The Woodlands, Inc. is celebrating a milestone of 30 years of dedicated service and support in our local community with a grant to a local non-profit of up to $30,000 to leave a lasting legacy symbolizing the work done by Junior League. In 1990, Junior League of North Harris County was incorporated and affiliated with The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc for the purpose of enhancing the social, cultural, and political fabric of civil society. In 2015, the organization was rebranded to the current name of Junior League of The Woodlands, Inc. (JLTW).

JLTW, throughout its proud history, has been an organization of women possessing a variety of skills, backgrounds and interests who are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities in suburban North Houston and Montgomery County.

Over the last 30 years, JLTW has grown to over 500 members, implemented nearly 50 community programs, provided millions of dollars in monetary support to local non-profit organizations, all while serving countless hours of direct community service each year through its membership. JLTW members serve over 40,000 hours in the community annually and last year awarded over $130,000 to other well-deserving non-profit organizations or in support of their community projects.

In celebration of its 30th Anniversary, JLTW will be awarding an Anniversary Gift in the amount of $30,000. This grant should leave a lasting impact on our community and act as a living legacy. Applications are currently being accepted until December 1, 2019 from non-profit organizations within the areas of North Harris and South Montgomery Counties.

Junior League of The Woodlands’ President, Allison Tinker, in announcing the availability of this gift to the community, stated “It is an honor to reflect on the significant impact this organization has had on numerous lives within our community over the last thirty years, those of our community, as well as our members. This award carries with it all of the hard work of the women before me and signifies the future dedication of our organization to our local area.”

In addition to this Anniversary Gift, JLTW will continue to bestow monetary awards through our Community Assistance Fund and Emergency Relief Fund. Emergency Relief Fund applications are accepted, and funds awarded yearlong to help with emergency needs of organizations in our community. Applications through our Community Assistance program will begin in January 2020 and will extend through March 15, 2020.
