THE WOODLANDS, TX – Woodlands Online staff recently had the opportunity to stay overnight at the recently completed Hyatt Regency Conroe, located at 1001 Grand Central Parkway, just south of Loop 336 and west of Interstate 45 north of The Woodlands. The area’s latest upscale hotel delivered on comfort, convenience, and family fun.

The hotel is situated on the former site of Camp Strake in Grand Central Park, making it a perfect destination and travel terminus for those, say, coming down from Dallas or other points north visiting the local Medical Center, or equally suited for Houstonians and Woodlanders needing to get away for a night or two but not travel too far from home.

There are amenities for families, solo stayers, and businesses alike. For the grown-ups, a lobby bar called Avenue A provides some cozy comfort over drinks and snacks, open every afternoon and evening. The bar features a signature cocktail called the Texas Sunset that includes a smokiness on multiple levels.

For the entire family or single diner, there is the in-house restaurant, Conroux, which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. Of note are the grilled black garlic wings as an appetizer, and blackened redfish or steak frites dishes for a main course. Rounding out your meal is a decent dessert menu, including a delicious fried bourbon-apple turnover a la mode. Gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available on all menus.

For food or drink on the go, the lobby also features The Market, a barista experience offering traditional coffee drinks, seasonal beverages, blended juices, and teas, as well as a selection of snacks, sandwiches, pastries, and other sundries. Plans are in place to add a food and beverage delivery system for hotel guests.

For families with or without children, there is a greenscaped outdoor area with lawn games and an infinity pool open until late in the evening. For those with health on their mind, there is a 24-hour exercise center that is conveniently controlled-access for safety and comfort.

The cozy rooms include motion-activated safety lighting in key areas (no more barking shins on the corner of the bed or plowing into the bathroom door jamb in the dark), a personal coffee station, programmable safe, and large-screen television with standard channel choices as well as an innovative personalized meditation, relaxation, and sleep option over the accompanying sound bars. With more than 250 rooms and 13 suites of varying levels, whether you’re alone, with a loved one, or carting an entire family in tow, you have plenty of choices for maximum comfort.

Surprisingly, considering the hotel’s proximity to the interstate, guests can enjoy peace and quiet; traffic sounds are muted outdoors by the copious treescapes and indoors by soundproofing insulation and thick walls. Even the lobby is quiet even during rush-hour traffic.

For businesses, organizations, or large family affairs, the hotel also features a cavernous ballroom, fully customizable for a multiple of needs, from weddings to galas, from reunions to conventions. Along with several smaller conference rooms, there is 30,000 square feet of meeting space ready for you and your team.

Additional amenities include free internet access and free outdoor parking; controlled access to elevators, rooms, and special areas via digital key, business services, a laundry, a knowledgeable concierge, and a pet-friendly environment.

Whether you’re a Woodlands or Conroe resident looking for a night or weekend away from the home, or a visitor to the area for business, pleasure, or medical services, Hyatt Regency Conroe has what it takes to make your stay enjoyable.
