Texas State Association of Fire Fighters selects The Woodlands for Biennial convention

THE WOODLANDS, TX – In 2025, more than 300 firefighters from across Texas will come to The Woodlands for the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters’ 49th Biennial State Convention. The association recently announced that The Woodlands has been selected as the location for the 2025 convention, after the bid was recently presented during the 48th Biennial Convention in El Paso.

Visit The Woodlands, the official Destination Management Organization of The Woodlands Township, was at the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters 48th Biennial Convention to assist in the formal bid presentation. Visit The Woodlands team members Elizabeth Eddins – Executive Director – and Josie Lewis – Director of Sales – joined The Woodlands Professional Fire Fighters Association Executive Board to present the convention bid for 2025. Texas State Association of Fire Fighters delegates unanimously voted to host the next convention in The Woodlands. The host hotel and dates for the Texas State Fire Fighters Association's 49th Biennial Convention have yet to be announced.

“We’re excited our fellow Texas firefighters chose The Woodlands for our Association’s Bi-Annual Convention,' said Erik Secrest, President of The Woodlands Professional Firefighters Association.

“This is an exciting achievement for The Woodlands and for The Woodlands Professional Fire Fighters Association, whose Executive Board has been working towards this goal for several years. Over the next two years, Visit The Woodlands and The Woodlands Professional Fire Fighters Association will continue working with the Texas State Fire Fighters Association to provide a phenomenal convention experience for Texas firefighters in 2025,” said Visit The Woodlands in a statement.

The week-long convention is estimated to generate $650,000 in economic impact for The Woodlands.
