MCTX Sheriff Deputy’s Vigilance Leads to Felony Arrest

CONROE, TX -- On December 6, 2023, at 1:05 AM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office East Precinct noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business in the 9100 block of TX-242, Conroe, Texas. The driver of the vehicle stated he was meeting with an individual named “TJ” to purchase a motorcycle. The driver also stated that “TJ” attempted to sell him a “side-by-side” ATV earlier that was stolen. The driver provided a location where “TJ” was picking up the motorcycle.

Following that lead, deputies arrived at the location and observed a suspicious vehicle pulling a “side by side” ATV on a trailer that was blocking the roadway. The ATV was in fact stolen out of San Jacinto County. The driver of the vehicle, James Trawick (45), was then taken into custody for Theft.

Trawick was also found in possession of Methamphetamine and will be facing an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Second-degree Felony. Trawick is currently booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
