MCTX Sheriff Investigates Shooting in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, TX -- On December 11, 2023, at about 8:00 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 800 block of Omeara, Montgomery, TX, in reference to a Welfare Check. Upon arrival, Deputies located a deceased male and female with apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives with the Homicide and Violent Crimes Division, along with Crime Scene Investigators, are on scene and investigating. Investigation indicates a family friend arrived at the home to pick up the male for work and noticed that the front door of the residence was open. He then went to an adjacent neighbor's house to call 911.

The circumstances and motive around this shooting are still under investigation. At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident and only involves the two deceased persons. The names of the deceased are not being released pending notification of next of kin. This investigation is still in its infancy and is active. There is no other information available at this time.
