THE WOODLANDS, TX – Waste Connections was awarded the 2024 Community Partner Award at the Community Assistance Center Legacy Luncheon recently in The Woodlands.

The award is an annual honor bestowed by CAC – formerly known as Crisis Assistance Center and Montgomery County Emergency Assistance – to an individual, entity, or business that exhibits significant community spirit, outreach, and support for local residents in need.

Of the numerous events that Waste Connections partook in in this vein, there were several standout examples. One included their partnership with Sheriff Rand Henderson, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and other agencies and businesses for the 7th annual Operation Blue Elf event. Employees at Waste Connections were key in assembling the 487 bicycles to be distributed to local children for free.

Another example was Waste Connections’ sponsorship of Project Beacon’s Fall into Friendship: November Social Spectacular. Project Beacon is a locally based nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop an intentional residential community with meaningful employment, recreational, and social opportunities for individuals with Autism, Neurodiversity, and I/DD in a safe, caring, and flexible environment, allowing each resident to realize their full potential.

Additionally, Waste Connections recently hosted its 16th annual Waste Connections Golf Classic for Kids and VIP Poker Experience at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center. This combination indoor / outdoor event also featured an award dinner and live auction, followed by an after party.
