Project Beacon invites guests and volunteers to its Fall into Friendship: November Social Spectacular this weekend

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Project Beacon invites people to join in for a creative and giving day filled with artistic expressions, and the warm spirit of fall. The Fall into Friendship: November Social Spectacular will take place this Saturday, November 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Spring Creek Nature Center, 1300 Riley Fuzzel Rd in Spring.

“As we embrace the Thanksgiving season, we believe in the power of community and coming together to make a difference. Get into the spirit of giving with us this Thanksgiving season. We look forward to a fun social event and also giving back to our community by creating breakfast bags for Meals on Wheels. This event is open to the whole community. Join us for a wonderful day filled with crafts, treats, and the joy of giving back to our community,” said the organization in a statement.

Project Beacon is a locally based nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop an intentional residential community with meaningful employment, recreational, and social opportunities for individuals with Autism, Neurodiversity, and I/DD in a safe, caring, and flexible environment, allowing each resident to realize their full potential. Project Beacon’s Social Enrichment Events are designed for adults and older adolescents (16 and up) with autism and other neurodiversities. The goal of these events is to create a fun social event that encourages participation and increases socialization skills.

The event is offered to participants at no charge, but attendees can help offset the costs of the event with a suggested donation of $5 per participant. The event is sponsored by Waste Connections

There are ways to participate in theFall into Friendship give-back event benefiting Meals on Wheels, including:

• Make a cash donation – each $20 received creates 40 bags
• Bring an item – plain, instant oatmeal or grits; soft breakfast bar; pack of cheese crackers; snack-size box of raisins; juice box; single packet of instant coffee; single packet tea bag
• Volunteer your time – join in to decorate and pack breakfast bags for Meals on Wheels
