Position: Dog Walker and Kennel Technician

Location: Spring, Texas

Salary: $12 - $15 per hour

Schedule:

    •    Morning Shifts: Varied, up to 7 days a week
    •    Evening Shifts: 6 PM to 8 PM, seven days a week

Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dog Walker and Kennel Technician to join our team. This role is focused on providing exceptional care for dogs within our kennel setting. It combines a love for animals with practical skills to ensure the health and happiness of our canine clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for walking, feeding, cleaning, and general care of dogs before and after their training sessions, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitized environment. This position is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of dogs, ensuring their stay is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Responsibilities:

    •    Walk dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
    •    Clean and disinfect dog kennels and surrounding areas.
    •    Feed and water dogs according to specific schedules and dietary needs.
    •    Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any health concerns.
    •    Provide basic grooming services and ensure regular exercise.
    •    Record and update health records and behavior observations for veterinary reference.
    •    Assist with the preparation of dogs for return to their owners or adoption.
    •    Perform maintenance tasks to ensure a hygienic environment for all dogs.

Requirements:

    •    A positive attitude and a genuine love for dogs.
    •    Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
    •    Ability to handle both small and large breeds of dogs.
    •    CPR and other relevant training will be provided by the employer.
    •    Experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.

Skills:

    •    Keen observation skills for monitoring dog behavior and health.
    •    Knowledge in medication administration and emergency response.
    •    Understanding of sanitation protocols and nutrition management for dogs.
    •    Efficient record-keeping abilities for accurate health and care documentation.

Work Environment:

    •    A dynamic setting within dog care facilities, including both indoor and outdoor areas.
    •    The role involves wearing comfortable, practical clothing suitable for dog care.
    •    Work hours may vary, often requiring availability on weekends and holidays.
    •    A community-focused environment with high interaction levels among pet owners, dogs, and colleagues.
