Operate school bus and related equipment to provide safe and orderly transportation of students and other authorized persons on assigned route and to and from other designated locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

Clear and valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements or obtain within 45 business days of acquiring Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)
Completion of pre-CLP requirements or obtain CLP within 15 business days of hire.
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
Ability to complete required bus driver safety training within designated timelines
Ability to operate all types of buses in the CISD Fleet in a safe and effective manner
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
Ability to manage student behavior
Ability to effectively communicate in English with others in oral and written form
Ability to read turn-by-turn directions and a route sheet
