Township Chairman Tough opens Texas Recreation & Park Society Annual Institute & Trade Show

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Township Chairman of the Board Bruce C. Tough gave the opening remarks at the Texas Recreation & Park Society (TRAPS) Annual Institute and Trade Show held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

The three-day institute, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of TRAPS, brought more than 1,000 park and recreation professionals and sponsors to The Woodlands for educational sessions and a trade show. This was the first time The Woodlands has hosted the annual event.

TRAPS is an organization that provides its members with information and resources to help with a wide range of challenges facing park, recreation, and leisure service professionals, including programming, grant and aid applications, coordinating events, promoting projects, advocacy and legislative awareness, job postings, and marketing products and services. TRAPS members come from hundreds of city and county park and recreation departments around the state, as well as colleges and universities with parks and recreation curricula, state agencies, river authorities and non-profit and educational entities.
