THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- On Saturday, October 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Stonebridge Church will host the First Annual Stonebridge Food Pantry Gala. Hosted at "The Bridge" on the church's campus, the evening will include dinner, dancing, and a silent auction.

The First Annual Stonebridge Food Pantry Gala will be hosted October 12.

Live entertainment will be provided by Steel Water Blue and BBQ will be catered by Mama J's. Tickets are $40 per person and are sold at the pantry on Sundays or online.

The inaugural gala will help provide the food pantry with much needed funds to purchase food and offer help with bills and rent for qualifying families in need. Assistance is provided to each family once every month and varies by need.

The food pantry offers three bags of food to each family including fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and cheeses. Financial assistance is also offered if the need is great; rent for an eviction notice, bill paid so electricity is not shut off.

"We serve over a 1,000 people a month. Our goal is to keep the children from going hungry," said Stonebridge Food Pantry Director, Tiffany Ray.

Above all, the families serving at the food pantry make friendships with the families in need and the monthly visits turn into reunions that involve prayer needs and other forms of support.

As Ray said, help "feed the hungry, body and soul."

For community members who need assistance an appointment is required. Appointments are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The pantry serves the following zipcodes: 77353, 77354, 77355, 77356, 77357, 77316, 77328, 77375, 77377, 77362, 77447. In order to be served, individuals must present a valid Texas Driver's License or valid Texas ID Card, proof of income, and a current utility statement.

To register for the event visit Boots, Baubles, and BBQ. Individuals can also volunteer at the food pantry.
